beyond time

It occurred to me tonight why there is no time in eternity...why there is no beginning and no end to eternal life.  During our time on earth we are chained to time.  Time limits our days, shapes our careers, makes parents out of children and provides opportunities for generation after generation to take a stand in the sun.  Many things compete for our attention while we live in a place where time rules.  But God fashioned a place where time no longer has dominion.  Only in a place where there is no time can each of us have unlimited opportunity to be directly in the presence of the Lord.  Without distraction we can worship, wonder and wait before Him.  In a place beyond time there is no rush and there is no line waiting to see the King.

1 Corinthians 15:45-49 We follow this sequence in Scripture: The First Adam received life, the Last Adam is a life-giving Spirit. Physical life comes first, then spiritual—a firm base shaped from the earth, a final completion coming out of heaven. The First Man was made out of earth, and people since then are earthy; the Second Man was made out of heaven, and people now can be heavenly. In the same way that we've worked from our earthy origins, let's embrace our heavenly ends.

blessings,
