faith, grace and hope

We have recently been thinking about two special words...and special spiritual concepts: "faith" and "grace".  We have seen that grace is the "loving touch" of our wonderful Lord on our personal lives and that faith is an invisible, but unbreakable, cable that God holds at one end that connects to us at the other end.  We need God's loving touch to see and to feel this connection.  Once the "faith cable" has been activated (something like having your cable connected for internet, phone and T.V.) God will ensure that no one can sever the service.  (He even moves into our heart to watch over the connection).  Grace leads to Faith and Faith leads to Hope.  Just as Grace and Faith are absolutely real, and yet absolutely invisible, so Hope is an absolute assurance in a certain future (before it comes to pass).  We need Hope because we live in a continual Now and we have never been where we are ultimately going in the future, (especially after we finish our earthly existence).  We need the absolute assurance of the reality of Heaven so that we can be free to walk "Now" in peace.  Our faith cable also provides the communications link we need to send and receive information and concerns with God, who continually holds us with His arms of Grace.  Grace leads to Faith.  Faith leads to Hope.  Hope sets us free to experience and reflect Grace, that others might find Faith and Hope (all through the loving work of Father, Son and Holy Spirit).

Romans 5:5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spiritwho was given to us.

blessings,
Rob Smith
