shadow of the cross

Though long ago and far away, its shadow reaches still
The Cross that saw a Savior die
That I would be made well.

The conflict shaped 'tween God and man since Eden's
serpent choice,
Came to a rugged intersect on beams with wooden voice.

I could not find a way to Him or understand His love,
Until He first my ransom paid from treasuries above.

It was I deserved to die...but He went in my place,
And in the shadow of the Cross

My sin has been erased.

Hebrews 12:looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
