morning eagle

I spied the pictured eagle this morning and looked up a few facts:
  • There are about 20,000 bald eagles in the U.S.
  • They have about 7,000 feathers each.
  • They can live up to 30 years in the wild.
  • They mate for life.
  • They can fly up to 5 miles high and at speeds up to 35 mph.
  • They have a wingspan of about 7 feet.
Deuteronomy 32:11
Like an eagle that rouses her chicks
    and hovers over her young,
so he spread his wings to take them up
and carried them safely on his pinions.
