what (who) will last?

 Hebrews 1:10 He also says to the Son,
"In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth
    and made the heavens with your hands.
11 They will perish, but you remain forever.
    They will wear out like old clothing.
12 You will fold them up like a cloak
    and discard them like old clothing.
But you are always the same;
    you will live forever."

Hebrews 12:25 Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven! 26 When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: "Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also." 27 This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain.
28 Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.

Here are two passages from the book of Hebrews...one from near the beginning and one from near the end.  It is good to consider the things that will last and the things that will not last and to decide where our allegiance and trust will lie.  There is a Kingdom that is beyond "shaking" that is ruled by the One who created us and all we can see.  Somewhere within we know that we were made for eternity and to inhabit the unshakable Kingdom!

blessings,
Rob Smith
